Embarking on a new project! Making my own animated tarot deck! 🔮

Some of you know I love tarot cards and the many images and symbols- they are essentially small stories - and I want to bring them to life with small cut-out animations. But I don’t think I’m quite grasping the scope of animating 78 cards! However I’m excited to try! 🤩🙌🏻

I love that when I do this challenge next year I can expand the character; giving her new outfits or maybe even making her into a stop motion puppet or something, or I can make a completely new character 🤩
In other words I love this first week of the challenge because you get to know the character you’re making and finding their personality ☺️🙌🏻✨

I had a lot of fun drawing this little old lady! 🍂🧡

Previously I’ve only used black India ink for inktober, and now I’m testing out watercolour ink in orange. My main issue is that it still lifts after it dries- but if I adjust how I layer the paint, it should be fine once I get used to it- and the colour is simply beautiful! ☺️🍁

I said I would not do inktober this Year, and yet I can’t resist! 🍁🍂 the ink is calling me! ✒️👻

But for real, I have a full time job, and a couple of freelance projects and a grant application planned for October, so I don’t know if I will find the time, but if I do! I’ve made some lovely boarders for my ink drawings! And if I only make one inktober drawing this year, it would still have been worth it!

We had an amazing time in Odense and today we’re travelling home -3 ladies carrying three medium sized suitcases, one large yellow suitcase, three backpacks, one glass table, one cello and two violins between us🎻 💪🏻 not half bad ☺️

In The original story, H.C. Andersen describes the sunrise over the snowy landscape: but when the sun rose, the sight was splendid. Trees and bushes were covered with hoar frost, and looked like a forest of white coral; while on every twig glittered frozen dew-drops. The many delicate forms concealed in summer by luxuriant foliage, were now clearly defined, and looked like glittering lace-work

A perfect excuse to use glitter! Visual artist Astrid describes her process: I wanted to emphasize the difference between the warm interior and the crisp cold outside.
