The story is about a dreaming tree longing for someplace else and not living in the present. This is captured visually by having drawings in black and white showing the life of the pinetree. When the tree is dreaming, the drawings get painted with colours.

The second story is about an old streetlamp that is about to be taken down. Here, using different layers of paper, and lighting them from different angles, gives the story a melancholic atmosphere.
